Working Visit of PT. KPBN to Kertajaya and Pasir Badak. The managers and new employees arrived at PT. Perkebunan Nusantara VIII Kertajaya Banten, at around 21.00 WIB. Upon arriving in Kertajaya, the team from PT. KPBN were warmly welcomed by the Manager of PTPN VIII, Mr. Wiku Saputro.
According to Mr. Amin Sarko as the HRD & General Manager said that `This working visit is to see the palm oil making process from the first stage to the last, where the new employees have to learn this process for product knowledge which will be useful as basic knowledge about palm oil production.`
The agenda for the second day of the visit to the Kertajaya plantation, the employees visited the palm oil plantation and learned about the process from the planting, growth, to the fruiting which will be taken later and collected, weighed, and then there will be a process at the Kertajaya factory.
After that, all palm oil is processed in a palm oil factory through stages starting from the Sterilizer, thresher, digester, screw press until reaching the final process. The new employees were able to ask questions and see firsthand how the palm oil is made from the palm oil plantation, the factory, to the final stage in the laboratory. After that, in the afternoon, the PT KPBN team went to PT Perkebunan Nusantara VIII which is located in Pasir Badak, Pelabuhan Ratu.
At the end of the working visit, the new employees of PT KPBN saw firsthand the process of making rubber from the first stage to the production stage at the Pasir Badak factory, Pelabuhan Ratu. The new employees of PT KPBN were very enthusiastic to see all the processes that were carried out and hoped that this program would be there and carried out routinely when new employees were accepted. `The production capacity of palm oil and its derivatives increased to 60.75 million tons in 2017 compared to 49.7 million tons in 2014,` Airlangga said at the Industry Ministry Building in Jakarta on Monday, October 23.
 
Airlangga targeted that the production capacity of palm oil and its derivatives would continue to increase by 62 million tons in the next two years. For the number of palm oil downstream products, the period 2015-2017 increased to 154 products and in 2018-2019 it is predicted that it will exceed 170 products.

NATIONAL PALM OIL CONFERENCE 2017: Focus on Partnerships with Farmers. Chairperson IPOC 2017 Mona Surya said, the direction of the oil palm industry development policy is important because its role is becoming increasingly important to the national economy both in terms of contribution to foreign exchange export, poverty alleviation, and workforce absorption. “This year we picked the theme Growth through Productivity: Partnership with Smallholders. The government is scheduled to deliver the policy direction regarding the national oil palm industry in the 13th Indonesian Palm Oil Conference (IPOC) and 2018 Price Outlook to be held at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center on November 1-3, 2017.
 
A number of other ministers is also scheduled to attend, i.e., Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita, and Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of National Land Agency Sofyan Djalil. At least more than 1,500 business actors from 23 countries will attend the event. The businessmen come from the oil palm industry business sector. Notably, IPOC this year will also be attended by representatives from oil palm farmers.
 
Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of National Land Agency Sofyan Djalil will also present the spatial planning policy that is the basis for the oil palm industry development in Indonesia. In addition, several world economic and commodity experts will also speak in the conference which serves as a reference for world business actors.
 
Some of the conference speakers are Alexandre P. Cooman (Cenipalma), Dato’ Dzulkifli Abd Wahab (Felda), a representative from Bank Mandiri, Rino Afrino (Indonesian Oil Palm Farmers Association/Apkasindo), Mahendra Siregar (Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries/CPOPC), and Sri Adiningsih (Presidential Advisory Council).
