Balance of Trade Deficit With China

JAKARTA: Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), Indonesia's trade balance recorded a deficit with China in September showed a decrease compared with the previous month.


Head of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Rusman Heriawan said Indonesia's trade deficit with China now being housed U.S. $ 228.5 million.

 

"There is a stronger tendency of our exports while imports increased but the increase is more ramps that reduce our deficit with China in September compared with previous months," said Rusman told reporters today.

 

Yet cumulatively in January-September, the trade deficit with China was recorded at U.S. $ 4.9 billion. Rusman explained consistently Indonesia still recorded a trade deficit with some countries for trade from January to September of them to Singapore amounted to US470 million, Thailand U.S. $ 2.58 billion, and Australia amounted to U.S. $ 1.23 billion.

 

"For Thailand, they are very competitive for horticulture products. Addiction to the country are so high that we still recorded a deficit, "he said. Meanwhile, trade with other countries recorded a surplus of them with Malaysia amounted to U.S. $ 2.09 billion, Korea U.S. $ 2.84 billion, Britain U.S. $ 533 million. "With the other Asean countries such as Vietnam, Philippines, Cambodia, we also recorded a surplus of U.S. $ 2.7 billion," said Rusman. (MSB)
